ELECTION 08

The turn out of the election of 2008 has not only shocked many people but has also built esteem inside people. Generally the whole world has been tuned into every current event due to this election and by the final outcome us as Americans see responses from each other country. I feel that every country has fallen into a trance of surprise. This election has placed a huge landmark in American history. It is crazy to think that not many years ago our states were still then separated due to racial identity. When talking about the election of 2008 I am going to concentrate on global perception and youth vote. Currently many countries are hoping that Barack Obama will help regulate economic situations and believe he will try his best to create success within the country. A very responsive Country in East African, Kenya, to this election has felt a great amount of pride due to Barack Obama's win. They feel that Barack is going to help ways in their country first and most. This is because Obama's father in from Kenya so many citizens who live there feel that they can connection to Obama.
Another major factor of this election was the impact of youth vote and technology use. Many news broadcasters have stated that during this election the youth vote is one to really stand out. Much of the campaigning through out the election was done either door to door or over the Internet. The campaigns that hit the people most have been said to be the ones shown over the Internet. Most youth voters are frequently on the Internet whether it is facebook or AOL people were still being able to pick up facts about the electors. I personally feel that it is important for the youths vote to stand out most because this is our future we have in hands to live for and determine. I also feel that us being considered part of the "youth vote" feel a sense of pride having our votes stand out so strong to others. I actually had a chance to express my vote this election and to know that it has been taken in such consideration makes me feel as if I am a part of true American history.

Cynthia Mckinney - blog post #4

The last past posts Cynthia mentions that the green party in the U.S has finally taken their stands on political issues. The three main issues that have been touched are racial issues, gender issues, and value issues. With in these issues the green party is said to be in support of people of color and support of women. Cynthia feels that the more women who run in the november elections then the more women will win. She hopes that in the november elections she will pick over 5% of votes. Cynthia also feels that if she pulls the victory up of green party to the highest federal level then she will begin to add further legitimacy to the party’s goals and values.
Here is a video of Cynthia supporting the green party, this video has been posted on the blog.

VP debate

With all the drama weighing on my mind, I sat down and watched the vice presidential debate. I can only speak for myself, but the pain in my head grew as I witnessed Gov. Palin deliver a performance drenched in FAKE phrases and overly simplified patriotic statements designed to seduce voters in Middle America. I hoped that she would hold her own because I know that many will judge all women in politics based on Palin's ability to perform under pressure. I also hoped that she would prove herself worthy of the office she seeks and that she would then be judged on the policy positions presented rather than on the fallout of another intellectual meltdown on national television.
One thing I actually did enjoy about the debates is that each candidate got to tell us what their roles would be as Vice-President. This really allowed me to realize which way I was leaning more. After the debate was over I had seen headlines on news sites announcing that Palin has gotten back on track and that she "defied expectations". Conservative analysts had been said to applauded her for being herself and speaking like an average American. Sometimes I feel that when Palin expresses ideas she is lost within political termonology and sounds just as I would if I were competing for vp.

Cynthia Mckinney's Blog

1. http://www.allthingscynthiamckinney.com/. The blog that I have choosen is about Cynthia Mckinney, a Green Party nominee for president of the United States. The blog allows us to see Cynthia's point of view through her runnings. There are videos also uploaded on the blog which show many of her speeches and also some of her campaigning.
2. This blog seems much more professional looking. The blog holds so many possible links to click on, all leading to more information about Cynthia. One part of this blog which really stands out to me is the rap that has been mixed by Danny Velarde in honor to Cynthia's position.
3.One specific issue talked about on Cynthia's blog is the use of oil. Cynthia has been quoted, "Right now we've got two energy policies in this country," McKinney told Grist. "One is war, the other is drilling. And neither one of them works." Cynthia wishes to win over voters who have tried Democratic and republican parties by using this message. In response to Cynthia's belief that our engery policies do not work, I feel that currently we are doing the best we can with energy issues. The way Cynthia had told her subscribers that she wants to basically capture all unknown votes seems she is very confident with her beliefs and choices. I enjoy the way Cnythia explains her point of veiw in full detail and alows readers even with ignorance to politics to fully understand her thoughts.

BMW 1 series!!

The blog i have read about states the strong and bold points about the fairly new BMW 1 series. It informs you about the standard options on the car and also the extraordinary accessories that can be added to the car. Not only does it describe facts about the car it also does some comparisons to other models of the BMW. Many of the people who are subscribed to this blog have commented about the comparison made between two different cars. The 123d coupe is a version of BMW which is only found in Europe, many of the comments argue that if this model were in the US then BMW would be much more sufficient. This would be because there would actually be a sports model which is supporting a good fuel economy.

The Dumbest Generation

After reading over Mark Bauerlein’s point of view towards our generation I began to think if I agree or disagree with his theories, but I’m stuck. I’m stuck between many statements that were mentioned. I thought over each point of view and I have decided that our generation is not dumb. We have opened our horizons in extremly different ways then our past generations have and this has made it all seem different. Sometimes it may seem that our generation is falling behind in academics or overall IEQ’s but we truely haven’t. We are taught by our parents and peers that technology is a whole new field to reaching ideas and facts. Teenagers today spend most of their time searching the web, texting, or watching televison but these are not the factors that hold us to being considered a dumb generation. Actually, many of these technologies have been able to expand our learning. Plenty of projects in school require searching the web for facts and information about certain topics. This doesn’t mean that books and writings are being dismissed from our lives it just gives us another resource to fall towards. With having extra resources in our lives we can have more options and in some cases even make our lives easier. The internet really provides to us all in many ways. Sometimes the internet can even be used as an escape from our stress. By using facebook or youtube, we set back and relax. Today relaxation is greatly needed for some teenagers. Some teens now have so much stress put on them they don’t know what to do or where to turn. Everyone has a time period to their lives and no one is forced to work and stress everyday. Especially us, were teenagers were finding our ways to and through life. We learn from our mistakes and we build off of them. By allowing us to rest, think over mistakes we’ ve made and, decide stupid things like what we want to wear tomorrow we can build into who we are and who we want to be. Many people may say that those are few of the reasons that cause us to be the dumbest generation. Yet I believe that our generation is just like any other with the support of technology and entertainment.
